 From Mogador to New Orleans:
 1st Ally Relief Tour"
Hurricane Relief and Recovery
A benefit fundraising tour featuring Gnaw Jazz music

Preliminary Overview
 Background

In response to the horrific calamity that hit New Orleans, the Moroccan community in the US will gather its efforts to hold a multi city fundraiser event entitled

" Mogador to New Orleans : 1st Ally Relief Tour"

It will be a smaller replica of the Essaouira Gnawa festival.

The Tour will be in the form of a musical tour of numerous US cities featuring the fused musical genres of Gnawa and Jazz otherwise known in World Music circles as "GnaJazz".

This event is to highlight the more than 2 centuries old friendship between the two countries but more importantly to honor a good friend and ally as this year back the US secured the release of 404 Moroccan soldiers, the oldest POW's in the world, that were held by Algeria.

 Event Committee

This event will have an Honorary and Advisory board that will be formed from within the American Moroccan community, as well as prominent Moroccan artists, and academicians.

 Headliners

A roster of the world's best known Gnajazz headliners will be selected to take part in this tour.

 New Orleans Partners

As the Washington Moroccan Club & Arabesques Art & Culture have produced fundraisers on numerous occasions in one of New Orleans' most prestigious Museums: the Longue Vue House & Gardens (longuevue.com) we will associate ourselves with partners from within New Orleans to enable and insure a direct and tangible assistance to the chosen relief projects

 Moroccan Partners

We will partner primarily Royal Air Maroc, 2M and Al Maghribia to get a broad advertisement towards the Moroccan Communities in North America. We will also negotiate a possible broadcast of the concert and hence secure more donors.

American Partners:

Red Cross, and USA Freedom corp.

Dates & Venues

We are proposing Spring  2007 in the following cities:
Washington DC,  New York, Houston, Chicago, Orlando, Boston,  San Francisco & Montreal.
